MANTALINA PSOMA

Mantalina Psoma was born in Athens in 1967. From 1985 to 1992 she studied at the Berlin School of Fine Arts (Hochschule der Kuenste Berlin, Bachelor degree 1991 , Master degree 1992). She returned to Athens in 2001.

In her paintings, Mantalina Psoma uses familiar pictorial codes to move into fictional, almost eerie realities. Her works, with their peculiar realism and their silent but vibrant atmosphere, penetrate the viewer’s inner world and retrieve images that are identifiable with his familiar experiences or personal existential concerns.

She has done twelve solo painting exhibitions so far:

She has also participated in many group exhibitions and fairs in Greece and abroad.

In 2002 ,she was chosen as the only painter from Greece to participate in the Phaidon’s Press catalogue “Vitamin P, New Perspectives in Painting”, which includes 114 of the most important contemporary painters from around the world. Her works exist in many private collections in Greece and abroad.
